Aerodactyl in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Mega, Moveset & How to Get
Aerodactyl is a blisteringly fast Rock/Flying Pokemon in Pokemon Champions, and speed is its whole identity. With 130 base Speed (150 as a Mega) it is one of the best Tailwind and Taunt leads in the format, and Mega Aerodactyl turns that speed into a Tough Claws physical attacker. This guide covers its stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread and how to get it.
Base Stats
Base Aerodactyl's 130 Speed already outpaces most of the field, and Mega Aerodactyl's 150 Speed plus 135 Attack and Tough Claws make it a fast, hard-hitting threat. Its 80/65/75 bulk is on the thin side, so it works as a fast support or hit-and-run attacker.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aerodactyl | 80 | 105 | 65 | 60 | 75 | 130 | 515 |
| Mega Aerodactyl | 80 | 135 | 85 | 70 | 95 | 150 | 615 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Rock Head (Aerodactyl) — removes recoil from moves like Head Smash and Double-Edge.
- Pressure / Unnerve — PP pressure, or blocking Berries.
- Tough Claws (Mega Aerodactyl) — boosts contact moves like Stone Edge and Dragon Claw by 30%.
Best Moveset
Fast lead / attacker
- Tailwind — set turn one to give your team speed control.
- Rock Slide — spread Rock STAB that can flinch both opponents.
- Taunt or Wide Guard — shut down setup/redirection, or block spread moves.
- Stone Edge, Earthquake or Protect — power, coverage or safety.
It can also run Stealth Rock, Dragon Dance, Roost and Heat Wave.
Suggested SP Spread
With the SP system, Aerodactyl wants Speed first (to out-lead and set Tailwind) plus Attack, with a fast offensive Stat Alignment. A Focus Sash helps it survive to set Tailwind or Stealth Rock. Tune it in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Aerodactyl is a premier fast lead: it reliably out-speeds the field to set Tailwind, Taunt a hazard or setup user, or click spread Rock Slide. Mega Aerodactyl converts that speed into Tough Claws-boosted offense. It is fragile, so it earns its slot through turn-one tempo and speed control rather than longevity, fitting hyper-offense and Tailwind teams.
Evolution Line
Aerodactyl does not evolve; it is revived from Old Amber. It Mega Evolves by holding Aerodactylite.
