Archaludon in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get
Archaludon is a powerhouse Steel/Dragon attacker in Pokemon Champions with a 600 BST, a wall-like 130 Defense, and a huge 125 Special Attack. With the Stamina ability it gets tougher every time it is hit, turning incoming damage into setup. This guide covers Archaludon's stats, type matchups, abilities, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Archaludon is a true bulky attacker: 130 Defense and 90 HP back a 125 Special Attack and a usable 105 Attack, all on a 600 BST. The soft spots are 65 Special Defense and 85 Speed, so it would rather tank physical hits and fire back than race the field. Its Steel/Dragon typing is superb defensively — see the matchup block below for the short weakness list.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Archaludon | 90 | 105 | 130 | 125 | 65 | 85 | 600 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Stamina — raises Defense by one stage each time Archaludon is hit by an attack. Combined with its already-high physical bulk, repeated hits make it nearly impossible to break on the physical side, and it can snowball into an immovable wall-breaker.
- Sturdy — survives a would-be OHKO from full HP at 1 HP. A safety net, but Stamina is far stronger for its tanky game plan.
- Stalwart — ignores redirection (Follow Me/Rage Powder/abilities that draw moves), so Archaludon always hits the target it chooses.
Best Moveset
Archaludon hits hard off both sides, but the special set is its best. For Regulation M-A doubles:
Bulky special attacker
- Flash Cannon — reliable Steel STAB with a Special Defense drop chance.
- Draco Meteor or Dragon Pulse — Dragon STAB; Draco Meteor nukes once, Dragon Pulse keeps power across turns.
- Thunderbolt or Aura Sphere — coverage for Water/Flying and opposing Steels.
- Protect — stall a turn so Stamina can stack while a partner applies pressure.
Iron Defense + Body Press style tank
- Iron Defense — stacks with Stamina to push Defense sky-high.
- Flash Cannon + Dragon Pulse — dual STAB to keep attacking through the bulk.
- Light Screen / Reflect — turn its survivability into team-wide screen support.
Physical options exist too — Stone Edge, Iron Head, Earthquake, Outrage, Swords Dance — alongside Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, Snarl, Roar and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Archaludon usually wants Special Attack plus HP, leaning on Stamina to handle Defense for free, with an SpA- or HP-focused Stat Alignment. Shoring up its weaker Special Defense with extra HP is the most common patch. Tune the Level 50 numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Archaludon is a wall-breaker that gets stronger the longer it is attacked. Its Steel/Dragon typing leaves only Fighting and Ground as weaknesses, so most of the field hits it for neutral or less — and every one of those hits feeds Stamina, raising its Defense until physical attackers simply cannot dent it. From behind that wall it threatens Flash Cannon and Draco Meteor, two STABs that crush a wide range of Fairy, Ice, Rock and Dragon targets. Stalwart is a quiet bonus in doubles, ignoring the Rage Powder and Follow Me redirection that protects fragile threats. It thrives in bulky balance and screen-support cores; just keep it away from the Fighting and Ground moves that bypass its defensive game entirely.
