Aurorus in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Aurorus is a bulky special attacker and weather setter in Pokemon Champions, built on a huge 123 HP and the unusual Rock/Ice typing. Snow Warning makes it an automatic snow lead, while Refrigerate turns Hyper Voice into a powerful spread Ice attack. This guide covers Aurorus's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Aurorus leans on a massive 123 HP and a solid 99 Special Attack, giving it real special bulk and offense at once. The flip side is poor 72/92 defenses relative to that HP and a slow 58 Speed, plus Rock/Ice is one of the most weakness-laden typings in the game (it takes 4x from Fighting and Steel). It wants to set weather, fire spread moves, and lean on its HP rather than try to out-position faster threats.

Resists: Normal Ice Poison Flying

Abilities

  • Snow Warning — summons snow on switch-in, raising Ice-types' Defense and enabling Blizzard's perfect accuracy. The build-around for a dedicated snow team.
  • Refrigerate — turns Normal-type moves into Ice moves with a 20% power boost. This makes Hyper Voice a strong STAB spread attack that hits both opponents.

Best Moveset

Aurorus plays as a bulky special pivot that sets weather and pressures the field with spread damage. For Regulation M-A doubles:

Refrigerate spread attacker

  • Hyper Voice — with Refrigerate this becomes a powerful Ice spread move hitting both opponents.
  • Blizzard — perfectly accurate under its own snow; a heavy Ice spread nuke.
  • Freeze-Dry — Ice STAB that is super-effective against Water, neatly covering Aurorus's own typing gaps.
  • Protect — doubles staple, vital for such a frail-feeling, slow attacker.

Coverage / utility

  • Earth Power — coverage for the Steel- and Fire-types that wall Ice.
  • Power Gem / Rock Slide / Stone Edge — Rock STAB; Rock Slide for spread.
  • Calm Mind — boost its already-good Special Attack for a bulky sweeper line, or Stealth Rock / Thunder Wave / Encore for support.

It also has Light Screen and Reflect for screen support and Substitute behind its big HP.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Aurorus wants Special Attack plus enough Special Defense to make its huge HP wall special threats, with a SpA- or HP-boosting Stat Alignment; you can dump the unused Speed and Attack. A slow Alignment suits Trick Room support. Tune the Level 50 spread in the team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Aurorus is a snow setter and bulky special spread attacker. Snow Warning lets it flip on automatic snow for Blizzard accuracy and Ice-type Defense, while Refrigerate Hyper Voice gives it spread pressure that few snow leads match. Its enormous HP lets it eat a hit and answer back, and Freeze-Dry punishes the Water- and Ground-types that try to switch in. The catch is its weakness-stacked Rock/Ice body — Fighting and Steel deal 4x — so it needs redirection or speed control to set snow safely and a partner that handles those super-effective hits. It is the engine of a snow core rather than a standalone sweeper.

Evolution Line

Amaura → Aurorus (Level 39, during the nighttime). Aurorus does not Mega Evolve.
