Emolga in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset, Abilities & How to Get
Emolga is a fast, slippery Electric/Flying support in Pokemon Champions. Its stats are modest, but 103 Speed lets it set Tailwind, redirect with Helping Hand, and pivot with Volt Switch before slower threats can react. The Electric/Flying typing also gives it a clean immunity to Ground, a resistance most Electric-types would kill for. This guide covers Emolga's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Emolga's defining stat is its 103 Speed — high enough to outrun most of the unboosted field. Everything else is below average: 55 HP and even 75/75 offenses mean it is a support piece, not an attacker. Its value comes from getting fast utility moves off, not from raw damage.

Type Matchups
Abilities
- Motor Drive — when hit by an Electric move, Emolga takes no damage and gains a Speed boost. In doubles this is genuinely useful: a partner can fire Electric spread or single-target moves into Emolga for a free +1 Speed, and it shuts down opposing Electric attacks.
- Static — a 30% chance to paralyse on contact. Passive and unreliable compared to the proactive Motor Drive.
Best Moveset
Emolga is a speed-control and utility pivot. The standout support set for Regulation M-A doubles is:
Fast support pivot
- Tailwind — its premier move; 103 Speed lets Emolga set Tailwind on turn one and hand the team a doubled-Speed window.
- Volt Switch — chip damage plus a momentum pivot that gets Emolga out and a teammate in safely.
- Helping Hand — boost a partner's damage on a key turn.
- Protect or Thunder Wave — safety, or spread paralysis to slow the opposing side.
It also brings Encore to lock opponents into setup or status, Taunt to shut down opposing support, U-turn as a second pivot option, Defog for hazard control, Air Slash and Thunderbolt for STAB, and Roost for longevity.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Emolga rarely needs more Speed — it is already fast. Spend points on HP and the defenses so it survives long enough to do its job, and take a bulk-boosting Stat Alignment. If you want it to threaten chip, a touch of Special Attack helps Volt Switch and Thunderbolt. Tune the final Level 50 spread in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Emolga's job is speed control and disruption, and it does it before almost anything else moves. Setting Tailwind at 103 Speed is its headline use, but the package around it — Volt Switch momentum, Encore to lock setup, Taunt to deny opposing support, Helping Hand to boost a partner — makes it a flexible glue piece on offense. The Ground immunity from its Flying typing, reinforced by Motor Drive's Electric immunity, lets it switch into the spread Earthquakes and Electric attacks that pressure the rest of the team. It is frail and won't win games on its own, but as a fast enabler that flips momentum and hands out Tailwind it earns its slot on hyper-offense and Tailwind-based teams.
Evolution Line
Emolga does not evolve and stands alone in its line. It does not Mega Evolve.
