Flapple in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Flapple is the offensive half of the Applin line in Pokemon Champions — a Grass/Dragon physical attacker with 110 Attack, the power-boosting Hustle ability and priority Grassy Glide under terrain. Where its cousin Appletun goes bulky, Flapple goes fast and aggressive. This guide covers Flapple's stats, type matchups, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Flapple is an offensive glass cannon: 110 Attack and a respectable 95 Special Attack give it strong dual-attacking potential, but 70 HP, 80 Defense and 60 Special Defense are frail and 70 Speed is unremarkable. It wants to hit first or hit hard — through priority, terrain, or a Dragon Dance — rather than trade hits.

Abilities

  • Hustle — raises physical Attack by 50% at the cost of physical accuracy. The build-around offensive ability; pairing it with the perfectly-accurate priority of Grassy Glide sidesteps the accuracy downside neatly.
  • Gluttony — makes Flapple eat a pinch Berry early (at half HP instead of a quarter), useful with a Sitrus or stat Berry.
  • Ripen — doubles the effect of any Berry Flapple eats; pairs with held Berries on a more defensive line.

Best Moveset

Flapple's best sets lean on Hustle-boosted physical damage and priority. The standout doubles options are:

Grassy Glide attacker (Hustle)

  • Grassy Glide — priority Grass STAB under Grassy Terrain; with Hustle it hits hard and skips the accuracy penalty.
  • Outrage or Dragon Claw — Dragon STAB; Dragon Claw is safer in doubles than locking into Outrage.
  • U-turn — pivot out of bad matchups and keep momentum.
  • Protect — scout and stall disruption turns.

Dragon Dance sweeper

  • Dragon Dance — fix its Speed and snowball its already-strong Attack.
  • Grassy Glide + Dragon Claw — STAB coverage after a boost.
  • Tera Blast — coverage to round out the offensive sets.

On a special or mixed line it also has Leaf Storm, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Air Slash and Leech Seed.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), the Hustle set wants max Attack and as much Speed as you can fit (Grassy Glide priority eases the Speed need), with an Attack- or Speed-boosting Stat Alignment. A Dragon Dance set values Speed even more so the boost goes further. Mixed builds can split into Special Attack since Flapple has 95 there. Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Flapple's niche is Hustle-boosted priority. On a Grassy Terrain team, a Hustle Grassy Glide turns Flapple into a fast, hard-hitting priority attacker that can pick off weakened threats and pressure faster teams without minding the usual Hustle accuracy tax. Dragon Dance gives it a self-sufficient sweeper mode for non-terrain teams. The catch is its fragility — 70/80/60 defenses fold to the Ice, Fairy, Dragon, Flying, Poison and Bug coverage that the Grass/Dragon typing invites, so it must come in safely, often via U-turn or a sacrifice, and lean on Fake Out and redirection to land its hits. As a budget priority attacker on terrain cores it pulls genuine weight.

Evolution Line

Applin evolves into Flapple using a Tart Apple (its bulkier counterpart Appletun uses a Sweet Apple). Flapple does not Mega Evolve.
