Kangaskhan in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Mega, Moveset & How to Get
Kangaskhan is a sturdy Normal-type whose Mega Evolution is one of the best aggressive leads in Pokemon Champions. Mega Kangaskhan's Parental Bond makes every attack hit twice, which — combined with Fake Out — lets it break Focus Sashes, Substitutes and Disguise while dealing heavy chip. This guide covers its stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread and how to get it.
Base Stats
Kangaskhan's 105 HP gives it real bulk for an attacker. Mega Kangaskhan reaches 125 Attack and 100 across Defense, Special Defense and Speed — but the headline is the ability, not the numbers: Parental Bond effectively multiplies its damage and shreds protective items.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kangaskhan | 105 | 95 | 80 | 40 | 80 | 90 | 490 |
| Mega Kangaskhan | 105 | 125 | 100 | 60 | 100 | 100 | 590 |
Type Matchups
Abilities
- Scrappy (Kangaskhan) — lets Normal and Fighting moves hit Ghost types.
- Early Bird / Inner Focus — situational base abilities.
- Parental Bond (Mega Kangaskhan) — every damaging move strikes twice (the second hit at reduced power). This breaks Focus Sash, Substitute and Disguise in one turn and stacks chip damage with Fake Out.
Best Moveset
Fake Out / Parental Bond attacker
- Fake Out — flinch a threat turn one; with Parental Bond it also chips through a Sash.
- Double-Edge or Body Slam — Normal STAB, doubled by Parental Bond.
- Earthquake or Sucker Punch — coverage or priority.
- Power-Up Punch or Protect — snowball Attack, or play safe.
It also has Drain Punch, Crunch, the elemental punches and Yawn.
Suggested SP Spread
With the SP system, Mega Kangaskhan wants Attack and Speed with an offensive Stat Alignment, keeping its naturally high HP for bulk. Tune it in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Mega Kangaskhan is a premier aggressive lead. Fake Out applies immediate pressure, Parental Bond means it punches through the Focus Sashes and Substitutes that normally blunt offense, and Power-Up Punch lets it snowball out of control. Its respectable bulk lets it stay on the field longer than most attackers, making it a reliable damage engine on hyper-offense and balance teams alike.
Evolution Line
Kangaskhan does not evolve. It Mega Evolves by holding Kangaskhanite.
