Milotic in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Milotic is one of the most durable special walls in Pokemon Champions. With 95/79/125 bulk, reliable recovery and the disruption-punishing Competitive ability, it shrugs off intimidation and special attacks alike while still threatening real damage. This guide covers Milotic's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Milotic's defining stat is its 125 Special Defense, backed by a healthy 95 HP, which makes it a premier special wall. Its 100 Special Attack is nothing to ignore, and 81 Speed sits in a respectable middle tier. The only soft spot is 79 Defense, leaving it more comfortable against special attackers than physical ones.

Abilities

  • Marvel Scale — boosts Defense by 50% when Milotic is afflicted by a status condition, turning burns and paralysis into accidental defensive buffs.
  • Competitive — sharply raises Special Attack whenever a stat is lowered by the opponent, punishing Intimidate, Snarl and similar in doubles. This is the standout doubles ability.
  • Cute Charm — may infatuate an attacker on contact. Largely irrelevant competitively.

Best Moveset

Bulky special pivot

  • Scald — Water STAB with a high burn chance, a perfect fit for a bulky pivot.
  • Ice Beam — coverage that hits the Dragon, Grass and Flying types Water alone struggles with.
  • Recover — reliable 50% recovery to outlast attackers.
  • Protect — doubles staple for scouting and stalling.

Other useful options include Flip Turn for momentum, Icy Wind for spread Speed control, Haze to wipe enemy setup, Light Screen for team support, Helping Hand, and Tera Blast. Coil and Dragon Dance exist for niche physical setup, though Milotic is far better as a special attacker.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Milotic typically maxes HP and patches its weaker Defense, leaning on its natural 125 Special Defense, with a defensive Stat Alignment. A more offensive Competitive set can invest in Special Attack and a touch of Speed. Dial in the final numbers in the team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Milotic is a defensive pivot that thrives in the Intimidate- and Snarl-heavy doubles meta. Competitive means every attempt to weaken it instead hands it a free Special Attack boost, flipping common disruption into a setup opportunity, while Recover and elite special bulk let it sit on the field for the whole game. Scald burns chip physical threats, Icy Wind and Haze provide control, and Flip Turn keeps momentum. Its main limitations are a merely average Defense and a lack of immediate power without a Competitive trigger, so it pairs best with partners that bait stat-lowering moves and appreciate a sturdy backstop.

Evolution Line

Feebas → Milotic (level up with maximum Beauty, or trade holding a Prism Scale). Milotic does not Mega Evolve.
