Morpeko in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Hunger Switch & How to Get
Morpeko is a fast, slippery Electric/Dark disruptor in Pokemon Champions whose gimmick is Hunger Switch: at the end of every turn it flips between Full Belly Mode (Electric) and Hangry Mode (Dark), and its signature move Aura Wheel changes type to match. With 97 Speed plus Fake Out, Parting Shot and Thunder Wave, it plays as a turn-one nuisance more than a brute. This guide covers Morpeko's stats, type matchups, abilities, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Morpeko is a frail speedster: 58/58/58 defenses give it almost no margin for error, but 95 Attack and 97 Speed let it strike first and hit harder than its size suggests. The whole kit is built to get value before it faints — Fake Out chip, fast status, then an Aura Wheel that pairs a guaranteed Speed boost with respectable power.

Type Matchups
Abilities
- Hunger Switch — at the end of each turn Morpeko swaps between Full Belly Mode (Electric) and Hangry Mode (Dark). Its signature Aura Wheel is Electric in Full Belly Mode and Dark in Hangry Mode, and either way always raises Morpeko's Speed by one stage when used.
Best Moveset
Morpeko is a support-leaning attacker. The standout Regulation M-A options:
Fast disruptor
- Fake Out — guaranteed flinch turn one to disrupt the opening and buy your team tempo.
- Parting Shot — lowers both of the target's offensive stats and pivots Morpeko out, a brilliant momentum and defensive tool.
- Thunder Wave — spreads paralysis to slow the opposing side.
- Protect — doubles staple for scouting and safety.
Offensive pivot
- Thunderbolt / Volt Switch — Electric STAB; Volt Switch pivots while chipping.
- Crunch or Foul Play — Dark STAB; Foul Play punishes physical attackers.
- Nasty Plot — special boost if you want a sweep attempt.
- Knock Off — removes items while dealing Dark damage.
It also carries Snarl, Taunt, Rapid Spin, Thunder Punch, Outrage, Substitute and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Morpeko wants Speed plus Attack to make Aura Wheel and Fake Out hit hard, with a Speed-boosting Stat Alignment. There is little point investing in its paper-thin defenses. Dial it in with the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Morpeko earns its slot through disruption, not raw power. Fake Out and Parting Shot give it two of the most valuable support actions in doubles — neutralising a turn-one threat, then lowering an attacker's stats while pivoting to a teammate. The Hunger Switch / Aura Wheel package means a lucky end-of-turn flip into Hangry Mode turns it into a self-accelerating Dark attacker, but the mode is not freely chosen, so Morpeko is best treated as a fast utility piece that occasionally snowballs. Its fragility demands it be played around Protect and switch timing, and it loves Tailwind or Trick Room teammates that punish the chaos it creates.
Evolution Line
Morpeko does not evolve and has no pre-evolution. It does not Mega Evolve.
