Noivern in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Noivern is a blisteringly fast Flying/Dragon special attacker in Pokemon Champions, built around a 123 base Speed that lets it set Tailwind on turn one or fire off spread damage before slower threats move. This guide covers its stats, type matchups, abilities, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Noivern's defining stat is its 123 Speed — one of the fastest unboosted numbers in the format — backed by a respectable 97 Special Attack. Its 85/80/80 bulk is average, so Noivern lives off being faster than nearly everything rather than being hard to KO. The middling Special Attack means it leans on coverage and support rather than raw power.

Abilities

  • Infiltrator — ignores Light Screen, Reflect, Aurora Veil and Substitute. This is the standout ability in doubles: Noivern punches straight through screen teams that wall the rest of your squad.
  • Frisk — reveals an opponent's held item; minor information utility.
  • Telepathy — avoids damage from an ally's spread move, niche but real in doubles when paired with an Earthquake user.

Best Moveset

Fast Tailwind support

  • Tailwind — the core reason to run Noivern; its high Speed near-guarantees it sets the turn it wants to.
  • Hurricane or Air Slash — Flying STAB; Air Slash's flinch chance shines under your own Tailwind.
  • Draco Meteor — Dragon STAB nuke for when you need immediate damage.
  • Protect — keep the Tailwind setter alive through a turn.

Special attacker

  • Boomburst — a powerful Normal-type spread move that hits both opponents hard (Infiltrator ignores their Substitutes).
  • Heat Wave — spread Fire coverage for Steel and Ice threats.
  • Hurricane + Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor — dual STAB.
  • U-turn — pivot out after chipping, keeping momentum.

Other tools include Dark Pulse, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Roost, Taunt, Defog and Tera Blast.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Noivern wants to cement its speed lead and hit harder: max Special Attack, then dump the rest into Speed with a Speed- or SpA-boosting Stat Alignment. A more supportive build can shift some points into HP to survive priority while setting Tailwind. Tune it in the team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Noivern's job in doubles is speed control. Its sky-high 123 Speed means it almost always sets Tailwind first, flipping the turn order for an entire team of slower hard-hitters, and Infiltrator lets it ignore the screens that other Tailwind setters bounce off of. Beyond support, it doubles as a fast spread attacker with Boomburst and Heat Wave, and U-turn keeps it from becoming dead weight once Tailwind is up. It is fragile and its Special Attack is only good rather than great, so it works best as a turn-one enabler that hands the game to bulkier or harder-hitting partners.
