Pangoro in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Pangoro is a hard-hitting Fighting/Dark bruiser in Pokemon Champions with a punishing 124 Attack and the rare Scrappy ability, which lets its Fighting moves ignore Ghost immunities. Add Parting Shot for momentum and a deep coverage movepool, and it becomes one of the meanest physical wallbreakers in the format. This guide covers Pangoro's stats, type matchups, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Pangoro hits hard with 124 Attack and carries solid 95 HP, but its 78/71 defenses and low 58 Speed mean it trades blows rather than outracing anything. The poor Speed is its biggest limitation in standard play and its biggest asset under Trick Room, where it suddenly moves first and its bulk lets it survive long enough to crash through teams.

Abilities

  • Iron Fist — boosts punching moves (Fire/Ice/Thunder Punch, Drain Punch, Power-Up Punch, Bullet Punch) by 20%; great if you build around punches.
  • Mold Breaker — ignores opposing abilities like Levitate or Sturdy when attacking.
  • Scrappy — lets Normal and Fighting moves hit Ghost-types. This is the headline ability: it means Close Combat and Body Slam can never be walled by a Ghost switch-in.

Best Moveset

Pangoro is a wallbreaker with a useful pivot option:

Scrappy wallbreaker

  • Close Combat — its strongest Fighting STAB; with Scrappy nothing is immune to it.
  • Knock Off — Dark STAB that also strips the target's item; superb utility in doubles.
  • Ice Punch / Fire Punch — Iron-Fist-boosted coverage for Flying, Grass, Steel and Bug threats.
  • Protect — doubles staple to survive a focused turn.

Parting Shot pivot / setup

  • Parting Shot — lowers both opposing offensive stats and pivots out, a brilliant momentum tool.
  • Swords Dance or Bulk Up — boost into a Trick Room sweep.
  • Drain Punch — Iron-Fist STAB with recovery for longevity.

Other tools include Crunch, Throat Chop, Gunk Shot, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Bullet Punch (priority), Taunt and Tera Blast.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Pangoro almost always maxes Attack and invests the rest in HP for a Trick Room wallbreaker, using an Attack-boosting Stat Alignment and accepting (or even wanting) low Speed. If running outside Trick Room, add some Speed to creep slower threats. Tune the Level 50 numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Pangoro is a Trick Room wallbreaker and disruptive pivot in Regulation M-A doubles. Scrappy makes its Close Combat genuinely unwallable — Ghost-types that normally pivot into Fighting attacks get hit anyway — while Knock Off strips items and Parting Shot debuffs and escapes. Its low Speed is a liability in standard games but ideal under Trick Room, where its 95 HP and 124 Attack let it punch holes through whole teams. It pairs naturally with Trick Room setters and slow bulky partners, and Iron Fist sets reward leaning into elemental punches for coverage. Faster offense and strong Fairy/Flying answers are its main checks.

Evolution Line

Pancham → Pangoro (Level 32 while a Dark-type is in the party). Pangoro does not Mega Evolve.
