Pelipper in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get
Pelipper is the format's go-to rain setter in Pokemon Champions, a Water/Flying support pivot whose Drizzle ability turns on the rain the moment it enters the field. Bulky on the physical side and armed with U-turn, Tailwind, and Wide Guard, it does far more than just flip the weather. This guide covers Pelipper's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Pelipper has a respectable 95 Special Attack and a solid 60/100/70 bulk, but a slow 65 Speed and a weak 50 Attack. It is not built to sweep — its job is to set rain and support — though under rain its Hurricane never misses and a rain-boosted Hydro Pump hits surprisingly hard for a support piece.

Type Matchups
Abilities
- Keen Eye — prevents accuracy drops. Niche.
- Drizzle — summons rain on entry, boosting Water moves, weakening Fire, and making Hurricane and Thunder perfectly accurate. This is the entire reason to run Pelipper and the engine of rain teams.
- Rain Dish — passively restores HP each turn while it is raining; a small longevity bonus that synergizes with its own weather.
Best Moveset
Pelipper sets rain and enables the team, with enough offense to matter. For Regulation M-A doubles:
Rain setter / support pivot
- Hurricane — Flying STAB that becomes 100% accurate in its own rain; a spread-pressuring main attack.
- Hydro Pump or Scald — rain-boosted Water STAB; Scald is reliable with a burn chance.
- Tailwind — speed control to back up the rain sweepers.
- U-turn — pivots out to bring in a rain abuser after the weather is up.
Support tools
- Wide Guard — blocks spread moves, protecting fragile rain partners from Heat Wave, Rock Slide, and the like.
- Protect — doubles staple for safety and scouting.
- Helping Hand — boosts a partner's attack for a key turn.
- Icy Wind — spread Speed drop for soft speed control.
Other tools include Weather Ball (a 100-power Water move in rain), Roost, Knock Off, Defog, Liquidation, and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Pelipper is almost always a bulky support piece:
- Bulky rain setter: HP and Special Defense to patch its weaker defensive side and survive long enough to re-set rain, with a defensive Stat Alignment.
- Offensive support: some Special Attack so rain-boosted Hurricane and Hydro Pump still threaten, while keeping enough bulk to live a hit.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Pelipper is rain's keystone. Drizzle gives it the fastest, most reliable rain in the format, and once the weather is up it doubles the power of Water moves, halves Fire, and hands rain abusers like Swift Swim sweepers their speed and damage. But Pelipper is no one-trick weather bot: its 100 Defense lets it pivot in on physical attackers, U-turn keeps the rain abuser coming in safely, Tailwind layers extra speed control on top of the rain, and Wide Guard shields fragile partners from the spread moves that would otherwise punish a rain team. The trade-off is its glaring 4x Electric weakness and a frail special side, so it wants to set the weather, do its support job, and pivot out before the opposing team can punish it.
