Quaquaval in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get
Quaquaval is a flashy Water/Fighting physical attacker in Pokemon Champions with 120 Attack and the snowballing Moxie ability. Every knockout makes it stronger, and its signature Water STAB even raises its Speed, turning a single kill into a runaway sweep. This guide covers Quaquaval's stats, type matchups, abilities, best moveset, an SP spread, its doubles role, and how to get it.
Base Stats
Quaquaval leads with a strong 120 Attack and respectable 85/80/75 bulk, but a middling 85 Speed means it often needs a boost or speed control to outrun the field. That is where its kit shines — its signature move raises its own Speed, and Moxie raises its Attack on every KO, so a single knockout flips both numbers in its favor.

Type Matchups
Abilities
- Torrent — powers up Water moves by 50% when HP drops below one third. A passive comeback boost.
- Moxie — raises Attack one stage each time Quaquaval knocks out a target. This is the build-around: in doubles, a well-timed KO snowballs its damage immediately, and pairing it with its Speed-boosting signature move makes it a genuine sweeper.
Best Moveset
Quaquaval is a physical attacker that wants to start snowballing. For Regulation M-A doubles:
Moxie snowball attacker
- Liquidation — reliable Water STAB that can drop Defense (its signature Aqua Step also raises Speed; from this listed pool, Liquidation is the consistent STAB).
- Close Combat — its hardest-hitting Fighting STAB for heavy damage.
- Swords Dance — stacks with Moxie to push damage to absurd levels.
- Protect — doubles staple to set up safely and stall speed-control turns.
Pivot / utility
- Flip Turn / U-turn — pivot out while keeping momentum.
- Aqua Jet — priority to pick off weakened foes and secure a Moxie KO.
- Icy Wind — spread Speed control; Taunt shuts down setup and Trick Room.
Other notable tools include Brave Bird, Air Slash, Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Surf, Knock Off, Encore, Bulk Up, Helping Hand, Substitute, Fling and Tera Blast.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Quaquaval wants Attack and Speed so it can land a first KO and let Moxie plus its Speed-boosting STAB take over. A Speed- or Attack-boosting Stat Alignment helps it get the snowball rolling, with leftover points in HP for bulk. Build the Level 50 numbers in the PikaChampions team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Quaquaval is a snowballing physical sweeper. On its own, 85 Speed is unremarkable, but Moxie and its Speed-raising signature STAB mean it only needs one knockout to become both faster and stronger — at which point it can run away with a game. It pairs beautifully with redirection (a Follow Me partner) and Fake Out support that let it land that first KO or a free Swords Dance, and Icy Wind gives it a self-contained speed-control option on slower builds. Its job is to convert a single opening into a sweep, so it shines on bring-the-pressure offense rather than as a passive pivot.
Evolution Line
Quaxly → Quaxwell (Level 16) → Quaquaval (Level 36). Quaquaval does not Mega Evolve.
