Rotom in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Appliance Formes & How to Get
Rotom is a compact, awkward-to-pin-down special pivot in Pokemon Champions. The base Ghost/Electric form is one of the better Volt Switch users in the format, and its five appliance formes — Heat, Wash, Frost, Fan and Mow — each swap the Ghost typing for a different secondary type, letting you tune Rotom's resistances to the matchup. Every form runs Levitate, so none of them care about Ground. This guide covers all six formes, plus stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread and how to get it.
Base Stats
Base Rotom is a small 50/77/95/77/91 frame — quick and serviceable but low-HP. The five appliance formes all share a sturdier statline: 50 HP but 65/107/105/107/86, trading a touch of Speed for much better mixed bulk and a higher 105 Special Attack. In practice every Rotom is a fast-ish, hard-to-OHKO special attacker; you pick the form for its typing, not its numbers.
| Form | HP | Atk | Def | SpA | SpD | Spe | BST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rotom | 50 | 50 | 77 | 95 | 77 | 91 | 440 |
| Heat Rotom | 50 | 65 | 107 | 105 | 107 | 86 | 520 |
| Wash Rotom | 50 | 65 | 107 | 105 | 107 | 86 | 520 |
| Frost Rotom | 50 | 65 | 107 | 105 | 107 | 86 | 520 |
| Fan Rotom | 50 | 65 | 107 | 105 | 107 | 86 | 520 |
| Mow Rotom | 50 | 65 | 107 | 105 | 107 | 86 | 520 |
Type Matchups
- Heat Rotom (Electric/Fire) — weak to Water and Rock.
- Wash Rotom (Electric/Water) — weak only to Grass; one of the best defensive typings in the game.
- Frost Rotom (Electric/Ice) — weak to Fire, Fighting and Rock.
- Fan Rotom (Electric/Flying) — weak to Ice and Rock.
- Mow Rotom (Electric/Grass) — weak to Fire, Ice, Poison and Bug.
Abilities
- Levitate (all formes) — full immunity to Ground moves and entry hazards like Spikes. This is the constant across every Rotom forme and a big reason it pivots so freely.
Best Moveset
Bulky Volt Switch pivot (any forme)
- Volt Switch — chip plus a free pivot, the core of Rotom's identity in doubles.
- Thunderbolt / Discharge — single-target or spread Electric STAB.
- Shadow Ball — Ghost STAB on the base form for offensive coverage.
- Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave — burn physical attackers or spread paralysis.
- Protect — doubles staple for scouting and safety.
Nasty Plot breaker
- Nasty Plot — doubles Special Attack to turn any forme into a sudden nuke.
- Thunderbolt + the forme's secondary STAB, with Protect to set up safely.
Other tools include Hyper Voice (spread), Dark Pulse, Foul Play, Poltergeist, Stored Power, Helping Hand, dual screens and Tera Blast. Pick the appliance forme whose secondary type best resists what your team fears — Wash for the safest defensive profile, Heat to flip the Fire weakness off a teammate, and so on.
Suggested SP Spread
With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), the appliance formes love a bulky pivot spread — HP plus Special Defense with a defensive Stat Alignment — so they survive to Volt Switch repeatedly. A Nasty Plot set instead wants Special Attack and Speed. Tune the exact numbers in the team builder.
Competitive Role in Regulation M-A
Rotom's appeal is flexibility. Levitate plus a strong defensive typing (especially Wash Rotom) makes it a low-risk pivot that comes in on resisted hits, fires Volt Switch for momentum, and spreads burns or paralysis. Because the five appliance formes only differ in their secondary type, a teambuilder can pick the exact forme that patches a hole in the rest of the squad — Heat to absorb Fire, Frost or Fan for Ice/Flying coverage, Mow for a Water/Ground answer. The base Ghost/Electric form trades some bulk for a Spin- and spread-blocking Ghost typing and Shadow Ball STAB. None of them hit especially hard without Nasty Plot, so Rotom earns its slot through resists, momentum and chip rather than raw power.
Evolution Line
Rotom does not evolve. It has six in-battle formes: the base Electric/Ghost Rotom and the Heat, Wash, Frost, Fan and Mow appliance formes, each a different Electric secondary typing. Rotom does not Mega Evolve.
