Salazzle is built for speed and special offense: 117 Speed outpaces most of the unboosted field and 111 Special Attack hits hard off STAB. The defensive stats are poor (68/60/60), so it functions as a glass cannon. Its value comes less from raw bulk and more from the chip and disruption Corrosion enables on otherwise untouchable targets.

Abilities

• Corrosion — its signature ability; Salazzle can poison or badly poison any Pokemon, even Steel and Poison types that are normally immune. This turns Toxic into a universal answer to walls and bulky setup threats.
• Oblivious — immunity to infatuation, Taunt and Intimidate-style intimidation effects; a niche but occasionally useful alternative.

Best Moveset

Salazzle plays as a fast special attacker that can also pivot into poison disruption. The key sets for Regulation M-A doubles:

Fast special attacker

• Heat Wave — spread Fire STAB that hits both opponents, its premier doubles move.
• Sludge Bomb — single-target Poison STAB with a poison chance.
• Nasty Plot — doubles Special Attack to push it into sweep range.
• Protect — doubles staple to stay safe behind redirection or buy a Tailwind turn.

Corrosion disruptor

• Toxic — with Corrosion, badly poison even Steel and Poison walls that would normally be immune.
• Encore / Taunt — lock or shut down setup and support targets.
• Will-O-Wisp — burn physical attackers to ease its frailty.
• Fake Out — flinch support to enable a partner's turn.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Salazzle maxes Special Attack and Speed first to confirm key OHKOs and speed tiers, then puts any remainder into HP. Use a Special Attack- or Speed-boosting Stat Alignment (lower its unused physical Attack). Dial it in with the PikaChampions team builder to verify your Level 50 numbers.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Salazzle's niche is built entirely around Corrosion. No other common Pokemon can poison Steel and Poison types, so Salazzle is the format's answer to bulky setup sweepers, Assault Vest walls and defensive Steels that simply shrug off everything else — a single Toxic puts them on a clock no matter their typing. Layered on top is a genuinely fast Heat Wave + Sludge Bomb attacker with Nasty Plot to break through. It's fragile and dislikes priority, so it shines behind Fake Out, redirection or Tailwind, where it can throw out spread damage and irreversible poison before the opponent can punish its thin defenses.

Evolution Line

Salandit → Salazzle (Level 33). Only female Salandit evolve into Salazzle; males stay as Salandit. Salazzle does not Mega Evolve.

How to Get Salazzle in Pokemon Champions

• Evolve Salandit — raise a female Salandit to Level 33 (males cannot evolve).
• Roster Ranch recruitment — available during the Regulation M-A season (around April–June 2026); permanently recruitable with Teammate Tickets.
