Simisage in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Simisage is the Grass member of the elemental-monkey trio in Pokemon Champions. It is a glassy, high-Speed attacker with equal 98 Attack and Special Attack, letting it run physical, special or mixed sets off the same base. This guide covers Simisage's stats, type matchups, best moves, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Simisage shares the trio's frame: 75/63/63 bulk, 101 Speed, and twin 98 offenses. The matched Attack and Special Attack make it genuinely flexible — it never wastes an offensive stat — but its frail defenses mean it must pick its turns and lean on its Speed to fire first.

Type Matchups

Weak to: Fire Ice Poison Flying Bug
Resists: Water Electric Grass Ground

Abilities

  • Gluttony — triggers a held Berry earlier than usual (at half HP rather than a quarter). Useful with a pinch Berry like Sitrus or a stat Berry.
  • Overgrow — powers up Grass moves by 50% once HP falls below a third. A situational comeback bonus rather than a build-around.

Best Moveset

Simisage punches above its bulk thanks to its Speed and dual offenses. For Regulation M-A doubles:

Mixed attacker

  • Giga Drain — Grass STAB that recovers HP, helping a fragile body stick around.
  • Knock Off — removes items and hits Psychic and Ghost switch-ins hard off 98 Attack.
  • Superpower — strong Fighting coverage for Dark and Steel walls.
  • Protect — doubles staple for scouting and surviving spread turns.

Special / utility flex

  • Energy Ball — special Grass STAB if you prefer a special spread.
  • Focus Blast — special Fighting coverage to pair with Energy Ball.
  • Gunk Shot — heavy Poison damage for Fairy and Grass targets.
  • Helping Hand — turn a fragile attacker into a support piece on slower turns.

Other tools include Rock Slide, Power-Up Punch, Throat Chop, Taunt, Synthesis and Substitute.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Simisage wants to commit to one offensive stat and max Speed to make the most of its 101 base. A physical build pours points into Attack and Speed with an Attack-boosting Stat Alignment; a special build mirrors that into Special Attack. Its bulk is too low to be worth defensive investment. Tune the spread in the PikaChampions team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Simisage is a fast, replaceable damage dealer whose selling point is flexibility rather than raw power. Because Attack and Special Attack are identical, it can be built to slot into whatever hole a team has — a physical Knock Off pivot or a special Energy Ball spammer — without retraining. In practice it is outclassed in raw stats by the format's premier Grass attackers, so it earns its spot on budget or themed teams that value its Speed tier and Giga Drain longevity. Pair it with redirection or Tailwind so its frail 75/63/63 body survives long enough to fire off its coverage.

Evolution Line

Pansage → Simisage (use a Leaf Stone). Simisage does not Mega Evolve.
