Starmie in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Mega, Moveset & How to Get

Starmie is a fast, flexible Water/Psychic Pokemon in Pokemon Champions that blends offense with utility — Rapid Spin, Recover, screens and Trick Room all sit in its kit. The Champions-exclusive Mega Starmie gains the eyebrow-raising Huge Power ability and big across-the-board stats. This guide covers its stats, matchups, best moveset, an SP spread and how to get it.

Base Stats

Base Starmie's 115 Speed and 100 Special Attack make it a quick special attacker and support. Mega Starmie bumps everything up — 130 Special Attack, 120 Speed and a much bulkier 100/105/105 frame — and adds Huge Power, which doubles its physical Attack. Since Starmie's strongest STABs are special, most builds still play it as a fast special attacker or utility pivot, treating Huge Power as a bonus for Flip Turn and physical coverage.

Abilities

  • Natural Cure (Starmie) — cures status on switch-out, great for a pivot.
  • Analytic / Illuminate — situational base abilities.
  • Huge Power (Mega Starmie) — doubles physical Attack. It is best leveraged through Flip Turn and physical coverage; the form remains an excellent fast special attacker regardless.

Best Moveset

Fast attacker / utility

  • Hydro Pump or Scald — Water STAB.
  • Psychic / Expanding Force — Psychic STAB.
  • Ice Beam or Thunderbolt — coverage.
  • Rapid Spin, Recover, Flip Turn or Protect — utility and longevity.

It can also set Reflect/Light Screen, Trick Room, Icy Wind and Thunder Wave.

Suggested SP Spread

With the SP system, Starmie usually wants Special Attack and Speed with an offensive Stat Alignment; Mega Starmie's extra bulk lets it run a more balanced spread. Tune it in the team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Starmie is a glue Pokemon: fast enough to threaten damage, with Rapid Spin to clear hazards, Recover for longevity, Flip Turn to pivot and screens or Trick Room for team support. Mega Starmie keeps that toolkit while adding bulk and power. It fits balance and bulky-offense teams that want a fast, self-sustaining attacker who can also do chores.

Evolution Line

Staryu → Starmie (using a Water Stone). Starmie Mega Evolves with Starmite.
