Tinkaton in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Tinkaton is a sturdy Fairy/Steel utility Pokemon in Pokemon Champions that does its best work spreading disruption rather than dealing big damage. Mold Breaker lets it ignore problem abilities, while a great defensive typing and 105 Special Defense let it sit in for support turns. This guide covers Tinkaton's stats, type matchups, abilities, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Tinkaton's standout stat is its 105 Special Defense, paired with solid 85 HP and 77 Defense for all-round bulk. The offensive stats (75 Attack, 70 Special Attack) are modest, so it leans on a fantastic Fairy/Steel defensive typing and utility rather than power. A respectable 94 base Speed lets it move before many bulky threats to land Encore, Thunder Wave or Fake Out.

Abilities

  • Mold Breaker — ignores abilities that would otherwise block its moves, so Bulldoze hits a Levitate user and Thunder Wave lands through immunity-granting abilities. The most build-relevant choice for a disruptor.
  • Own Tempo — immunity to confusion and to Intimidate-style flinch effects; a safe defensive pick.
  • Pickpocket — steals an attacker's held item when struck by contact. Niche but occasionally useful disruption.

Best Moveset

Tinkaton is a support piece first. Its notable moves give it a deep disruption toolkit:

Disruptive support

  • Fake Out — free flinch on turn one to enable a partner's setup or attack.
  • Encore — locks a foe into a non-threatening move, neutralizing setup or status.
  • Thunder Wave — spreads paralysis for speed control (Mold Breaker pushes it through immunities).
  • Knock Off — removes items and chips, excellent value in doubles.

Bulky utility

  • Play Rough — reliable Fairy STAB.
  • Flash Cannon / Iron Head — Steel STAB; Iron Head adds flinch chance.
  • Stealth Rock / Reflect / Light Screen — entry hazard and screen support.
  • Protect — doubles staple for scouting and survival.

It can also run Swords Dance, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Bulldoze, Foul Play, Helping Hand, Fling and Tera Blast.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), a support Tinkaton wants HP and Defense to round out its already-huge Special Defense, with a defensive Stat Alignment. If you want it to threaten back, invest in Attack with a Swords Dance set instead. Build the exact Level 50 spread in the team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Tinkaton is one of the format's better dedicated disruptors. Its job is to make the opponent's turns worse: Fake Out to open, Encore to trap a setup sweeper, Thunder Wave to slow a fast threat, and Knock Off to strip Assault Vests and boosting items. Mold Breaker is what elevates it over generic support — paralysis and ground moves land on foes that would normally be immune, which matters against the abilities common in M-A. The Fairy/Steel typing is one of the best defensively in the game, resisting a long list of attacks and letting Tinkaton stay on the field across multiple support turns. It is not a win condition, but it makes the win conditions around it far more reliable.

Evolution Line

Tinkatink → Tinkatuff (Level 24) → Tinkaton (Level 38). Tinkaton does not Mega Evolve.
