Toucannon in Pokemon Champions: Stats, Best Moveset & How to Get

Toucannon is a hard-hitting Normal/Flying physical attacker in Pokemon Champions with a strong 120 Attack and two ability paths — Sheer Force for raw power or Skill Link for guaranteed multi-hits. This guide covers its stats, type matchups, abilities, best moveset, an SP spread, its role in Regulation M-A doubles, and how to get it.

Base Stats

Toucannon hits hard off a 120 Attack, but everything around it is middling: 80 HP, 75 Defense, 75 Special Defense and a sluggish 60 Speed. That Speed is its biggest problem — it needs Tailwind support or a Trick Room team to function, since most of the format outpaces it. It is a glass cannon that wants the turn order solved before it swings.

Abilities

  • Sheer Force — boosts moves that have a secondary effect by 30% (and removes that effect). With moves like Gunk Shot, Air Slash and Heat Wave, this is usually the strongest pick for a pure attacker.
  • Skill Link — makes multi-hit moves always strike the maximum number of times; situational since Toucannon's best STAB isn't multi-hit, but it guarantees damage spread.
  • Keen Eye — prevents accuracy drops; a passive default.

Best Moveset

Sheer Force attacker

  • Brave Bird — its strongest Flying STAB; powerful recoil hit (note Sheer Force does not boost Brave Bird, so some builds pair it with Hurricane instead for the boost).
  • Gunk Shot — Sheer Force-boosted Poison coverage that smashes Fairies.
  • Heat Wave — spread Fire coverage hitting both opponents.
  • Knock Off — removes items and dents Ghosts and Psychics.

Tailwind support set

  • Tailwind — fix Toucannon's own Speed issue and the rest of the team's.
  • Brave Bird / Hyper Voice — STAB damage while it's still up.
  • U-turn — pivot out after setting Tailwind.
  • Protect — buy a turn in the doubles back-and-forth.

Other tools include Air Slash, Swords Dance, Encore, Throat Chop, Roost, Defog, Helping Hand and Tera Blast.

Suggested SP Spread

With the Champions SP system (66 points, max 32 per stat), Toucannon wants to max Attack and then either invest in Speed (with a Speed-boosting Stat Alignment) to lean on Tailwind, or in HP to survive a turn on a Trick Room team where its low Speed becomes a strength. Tune it in the team builder.

Competitive Role in Regulation M-A

Toucannon is a straightforward physical wallbreaker that lives and dies by speed control. Its 120 Attack with Sheer Force-boosted Gunk Shot and Heat Wave punishes Fairies and Steels alike, and Knock Off strips items from the support Pokemon it tends to face. But 60 Speed means it does almost nothing on its own — it needs a Tailwind partner (or to be on a Trick Room team) before it can swing safely. Pair it with a fast Tailwind setter, give it Protect to dodge focus fire, and it converts a single free turn into a knockout.

Evolution Line

Pikipek → Trumbeak (Level 14) → Toucannon (Level 28). Toucannon does not Mega Evolve.
